What brings a visitor back to your blog to become a subscriber? Usually the visitors don’t want to know if you took a long time building your site, if you lost hours and hours in the morning, or if the sacrifice was enormous. What should I consider to bring the visitor back and become a reader of my blog?

1 - The domain
If your domain is too long, probably will be difficult to remember later. The most successful sites on the Internet have short names: Digg, Twitter, Google, Yahoo, Hi5, and so on. If you buy a domain such as “thisismyfirstblogontheweb.com”, the chance to remember the name is 0,001%. Keep this in mind!

2 - Blog theme
If you use a theme that is widely used in other blogs, your readers will probably give less credit to your blog. Here, for example, I use a theme adapted by me.

3 - The title of your blog
The title of your blog is equally or more important than the content.
Provide a title to highlight the topic of your blog and what is described in its content. So your readers will certainly remember your blog.

4 - The content
The relevance of the content is extremely important. Be concise and accurate when you write. Spend more time in the content of your blog, because this could bring a very positive performance.

5 - The interactivity
If I visit your blog, make some comments on relevant issues, request assistance by email or by a contact form, and do not get answers, I probably will not return to your blog. You have to interact with your readers.

6 - Constant update
One of the most important factors in blogs is the rate of updates that a particular blog receives daily. Update the blog constantly with content related to the topic proposed in your blog.

7 - Links to other sites
When you write a certain article, keep in mind the importance of creating links to references that you write. Don’t be afraid to put links to other blogs or websites. If your article is really good, your readers will continue with you.

Give more attention to details in your blog… the performance will improve.

  • Today I will talk about some details which I consider important for the management and how to act before a blog and its readers.

    • One of the most important points that we should consider is the look of your blog and its navigation. Don’t build a blog with endless articles, please don’t make your blog an advertising campaign, and try to prevent users from using much the scroll. There are blogs with texts and endless texts, requiring the use of the scroll so endless, avoid it as much as possible.
    • Avoid making a blog with black background and white letters or yellow, or green, and so on. As you know, reading in front of the computer, is more complicated and less comfortable to read a book for example. In this case, you should consider that readers want to read the contents with pleasure. I advise strongly the use of bright colours in the background.
    • You must be careful with the number of ads placed in your blog, be careful with the position of the ads and provides a good reading of the contents.
    • Give special attention to the reader through their comments. If possible, make the moderation after the publication of comments. The contact form is an important item on a blog, don’t forget it. Users must have access to you.

There are many ways to attract readers and make money. The key is writing good articles!

  • I would like to describe some steps to get more readers to your blog. Read carefully:
    - Make your subscription options a priority. You can’t control search engines, and you can’t really predict when and how much traffic will come from incoming links. But your subscriber list is all yours, as long as you treat it right.
    - Fewer steps to subscribe. Reduce the number of steps and the amount of data it takes to complete the subscription process, and fewer people will abandon the subscription, or get distracted by something else.
    - If you want someone to perform a certain action in greater numbers than they currently are, you need to ask. It’s a call to action, and the desired action is a subscription.
